Our Voice is Not Limited

The struggle for women’s rights is one of the most important and global struggles for justice. All over the world, women strive for dignity, freedom, and equality, but still face many challenges and obstacles.

Afghanistan and Iran are examples of countries where women’s freedom and lives are extremely restricted. In Afghanistan, women and girls face difficult situations that may seem unbelievable to some of us. Schools for girls have been closed since the Taliban took power in 2021, and many women do not have the right to work or move freely. In some European countries such as France, which is typically viewed as more modern, women also face discrimination.

The right to education is essential for all of us because it gives us knowledge and the opportunity to build a better future. But in Afghanistan, girls are denied this right, and so they lose hope for their futures and dreams. In Iran, women must follow strict rules on how to dress, and the ‘morality police’ monitor whether they follow these orders. In 2022, young Mahsha Amini was killed after being arrested for not covering her hair completely. This tragedy brought thousands of people to the streets to protest. Their message was clear: women should be able to live freely and safely, without fear. The people that came together in the face of adversity prove that even when the situation is difficult, it is important for communities to join forces to demand justice be served.

In France, women may have more rights, but there is still a problem with sexual harassment and violence. Many women also face inequalities at work or even when they simply go out. Thanks to the #MeToo movement, many women have found the courage to speak out about these issues. As a result, society is learning to respect women more and create safer conditions for them.

The fight for women’s rights is not only about women but also about all of us. In a world where equality and respect prevail, we all benefit. Everyone must show solidarity with women all over the world and we must fight together for a world with less injustice, and more love and respect for all.
