Nowadays women -and especially refugee and asylum seeking women- are still subjected to discrimination regarding their employment opportunities and we should all try to fight against this.
This is what Techfugees Inclusion, a charity born in France, committed to empowering refugee women since 2018, is trying to do. The #TF4Women Fellowship is a 6-month free programme for refugee and asylum seeking women that provides educational and practical knowledge as well as mentoring and support in job research in the digital and tech sector.
So this program offers studies next to specialists in this field, who will support women that didn’t have the opportunity to find a job or to study this specialty.
#TF4Women Fellowship was launched in France 3 years ago. Since then, 70% of women have managed to find job opportunities. In opening an office in Greece right after Italy, Techfugees Inclusion aims to support 500 talented women all across Europe in the next 3 years.
This year, starting from November, the #TF4Women Fellowship will run online for the first time in Greece. So, if you are a refugee or asylum seeking woman beyond 18 years old, living in Greece and you are interested in technology, you can apply!
Through this you will be able to face any challenges in the future in job searching. Indeed, many students have already become strong role-models to others, as they achieved their goals and made their dreams come true.
Keep in mind that:
1- It is good to know yourself and discover your true interests, because then you can do anything else.
2- Age is not a barrier to success.
3- Everyone has a talent, but it is rare to find someone who works to show and develop it.
Do you have all the possibilities to improve and develop yourself? Do you have difficulty finding a suitable job, due to lack of technical expertise? Τhis program can provide you with all the support you need for free, in just 6 months.
Here are the requirements to apply:
1- 18+ years and older.
2- Women refugees or asylum seekers.
3- Able to write/communicate in English (&ideally some knowledge in Greek).
4- Comfortable with basic digital tools.
5- Interested in a career move in tech and digital jobs.
6- Passionate, ready and motivated to enter the labor market!.
You can apply online until October 10th here and a skills test and an interview will follow. 12 women will be chosen to participate in the programme.
