What is Peace?

There are too many definitions of peace and I will try to include as many as I can.

First of all, it is worth noting that the absence of various hostilities would be a perfect fight to end evil in our society.

Peace is an important factor in the personal and professional flourishing of every human being.

Waris Dirie states that “One of the greatest advantages of living in the West is peace and I’m not sure many people realize what a great blessing that is” and goes on to say that “There is crime but it’s not the same as when war rages around you”. These words from her book “Desert Flower” shows us how important and beneficial peace is.

While with peace prevailing, the strangest conflicts can be resolved, when war takes hold, everything can go from bad to worse and from worse to worst. Peace is light, joy and life, while war is utter darkness, misery and death itself. In other words, peace is the exact opposite of war; it is something that brings happiness to all the people of the earth, regardless of age, gender and nationality. With it we rejoice in the gift of life, life that no one has any right to take from anyone.

Concluding that war is evil and peace is good, we should all wish for the good and not the evil of our world. So let each of us individually wish for a better and more beautiful future for the whole world.
